also include Salat (a Sufi/Islamic Body Prayer) at the beginning or the end of the gathering. Families are welcome to join in Dhikr and prayer. After Dhikr we have a teaching based on Sidi’s writings and/or a discussion.

Zawiyah is a holy time of retreat from the pressures of daily life. There is ample time for silence, prayer, devotion, and closeness
to the Lord of creation. Each day there are Sufi practices of the Remembrance, daily prayers, and writing from the inspirational books written by our guide, Sidi Shaykh Muhammed al-Jamal. Zawiyahs are guided meditative retreats designed to deepen faith and move participants to another level in their spiritual journey. Zawiyah is scheduled several times throughout the year.
