This Sunday dhikr, December 11th, will be a special celebration of Mawlid,
the birthday of the Prophet salla’llahu ‘alayhi wa sallim. It is customary
during this month, and especially on the day, to recite dhikr and poetry
praising him, salla’llahu ‘alayhi wa sallim, and to share communal food.
We are very fortunate to have an invitation from our Sufi brother Hazem
Adel to host our Sunday dhikr and serve dinner afterward. He wrote, “I’ll
be honored if my invitation will be accepted. The house will be blessed by
your presence Insha’Allah.”
He will continue to share poetry and writings about the Prophet,
salla’llahu ‘alayhi wa sallim, as he did last Sunday. We will begin at 4:00
with dhikr, followed by his sharing and Maghrib prayer. Dinner will be served around 6 pm.
Please do come. It will be helpful, but not essential, to let Hazem know
if you are coming, and also *“*if anyone is vegetarian, vegan or have any
allergies*”
