Said bin Yunus strives to humbly serve God through his work and personal life. As an American convert to Islam, he has a foot in two worlds: one western & one Islamic/Sufi. His studies & experience foster building bridges between them for others by offering insights leading to integration, wholeness, happiness & peace. As a Faculty Member of the University of Spiritual Healing & Sufism, he teaches beginning elements of Islamic Law (fiqh) & Theology (‘Aqidah) in an open-hearted, non-coercive manner, that exposes the underlying love, mercy & deep spiritual meanings that illuminate ritual practice & prescribed beliefs. In his work as Imam of the Shadhiliyya Sufi Center (SSC) in N. California he supports students to awaken their own spirituality through sermons, classes, hosting retreats, as well as leading prayers & circles of remembering God. Said’s greatest love is in sharing the tremendous beauty, strength, wisdom & love that emanates from the Islamic-Sufi spiritual path to empower each individual as they travel their own path towards the Universally Merciful.
